Terms of service

The agreement between your business and PhoneAnswerer. Last updated: 26 September 2026.

1. The service

PhoneAnswerer provides an AI assistant that answers phone calls for your business, takes messages, sends texts and transfers calls as you configure it, and gives you summaries, transcripts and recordings. The service is for businesses, not consumers.

2. Free trial

New accounts get a 7-day free trial without a payment card. During the trial the assistant only answers calls from phone numbers you add as test numbers, and trial calls are limited to 30 minutes in total. To answer your customers' calls you must choose a plan.

3. Plans, minutes and payment

Plans are billed monthly or annually in advance. Each plan includes a number of call minutes per month; each call is rounded up to the next whole minute. Minutes above your allowance are charged at 15p per minute. Prices exclude VAT. Payments may be processed by a reseller acting as merchant of record, whose terms also apply to the payment.

PlanMonthlyAnnual (per month)Minutes per month
Starter£39£32250
Business£119£991,000
Pro£239£1992,000

4. Cancelling

You can cancel at any time. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you've paid for; we don't give partial refunds unless the law requires it.

5. Your responsibilities

  • Keep the information you give the assistant (prices, hours, answers) accurate. The assistant repeats what you tell it and can make mistakes; check important details with your customers.
  • Use the service lawfully. Don't use it for unsolicited marketing, harassment, emergency services or anything illegal.
  • You are the controller of your callers' personal data. Our processing terms (below) apply.
  • Keep your login details safe and tell us about any unauthorised use.

6. Phone numbers

We provide a UK phone number while your account is active. We may reassign a number after your trial ends or your account closes. If you forward your existing number to us, your phone provider may charge you for forwarded calls.

7. Data processing

When we process callers' personal data for you, we do so only on your instructions, keep it confidential and secure, use only the sub-processors listed in our privacy policy, help you respond to data-subject requests, delete data at the end of the service (subject to our retention periods), and tell you without undue delay about any personal data breach. This section forms our data processing agreement under UK GDPR Article 28.

8. Availability

We aim for the service to be available at all times but can't guarantee it will be uninterrupted. Phone networks and third-party AI providers may occasionally fail.

9. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that can't be limited by law. Otherwise, we are not liable for lost profits, lost business or indirect losses, and our total liability in any 12 months is limited to the fees you paid us in that period.

10. General

We may update these terms and will tell you about important changes by email. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Questions: [email protected].
